Groundwater Protection - A groundwater education/information/outreach component is part of each Wellhead Protection Project that has been completed through G/FLRPC. This has included the use of advisory committees, development and facilitation of classroom curriculum, and public outreach.
Monroe County Pesticide Amnesty Day - G/FLRPC is acted as Project Officer for the Monroe County Pesticide Amnesty Day. The goal of this program was to remove banned, unidentified and deteriorated pesticides from farms and agribusinesses in Monroe County before they are discharged accidentally or intentionally in the waterways that are part of the Great Lakes Basin Watershed and to train farmers on proper pesticide handling, disposal and pollution prevention practices. Project duration was May 1, 1996 through May 1, 1997.
On-site wastewater systems - G/FLRPC sponsored the Finger Lakes Onsite Wastewater Inspector Training Course which was a two day course for inspectors and regulatory officials.
