The purpose of this project was to develop strategies that address significant transportation and access issues affecting high priority publicly-owned or assisted industrial parks and sites (including brownfields) in the nine-county GTC region.

The economy of the nine-county GTC region is highly dependent on manufacturing, yet continues to lose more and more if its manufacturing base.  Reducing and removing transportation barriers that limit access to existing and planned industrial parks and sites is crucial to local and regional economic development.  By identifying high priority industrial parks and sites that are materially impacted by transportation and access issues, an Action Plan (including concept-level strategies) can be created to address these issues and improve the viability/marketability of these sites to potential tenants.
