Guide to a Clean Energy Future

This guide was prepared for you by a dedicated and talented team of graduate students from Columbia University’s  Sustainability Management Program, a joint Master of Science Program administered by the Earth Institute and School for Professional Studies.

We encourage you to use this document as a tool for your community to provide an objective, highly-informative resource to educate both the members of your community and municipal leaders.  The guide portrays the current state of the region, discusses misconceptions and concerns, breaks down the process of undergoing a clean energy transition, and provides thorough suggestions for moving forward within the region. Please take time to visit the table of contents and appendix, to guide your questions and concerns regarding the regional clean energy transition.

Please feel free to reach out to hferington@gflrpc.org for clarification of any of these topics and additional resources.
Genesee-Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council warmly thanks Columbia University, Thomas Abdallah, all those who provided stakeholder input, and above all the graduate students who put this comprehensive guide together for our region.
